They remember what you are.&#8221; &#8211; Jim Henson<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summer is almost over and that means school will soon be back in session, albeit in a very different and much more challenging way than usual. Whether students are in the classroom or learning from home, using a tablet or a pencil and paper, one thing is certain: their teachers will have a lasting impact on them, as our teachers had on us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So please join cartoonist and teaching artist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alexnall.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alex Nall<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a comics workshop celebrating our favorite teachers, and how they shaped us into who we are today. Alex will lead us in writing, drawing and designing our own page of comic book art using memories from elementary, high school, or beyond. Simple set-up and endless storytelling possibilities await! No drawing experience required. Only honesty, openness, and creativity are required to craft your story. He is the author of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teaching Comics, Let Some Word That Is Heard Be Yours, Lawns, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are Comic Books Real? <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He has led workshops at Chicago Publishers Resource Center, Independent Resource Center in Portland, Oregon, Columbia College Chicago, Cartoons Crossroads Columbus, Chicago Alternative Comics Expo, among many other libraries, galleries, and non-profit art spaces. His work has been featured in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Newcity, Chicago Reader, and <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best American Comics (Notable Section). He has worked as an arts educator for over seven years, serving youths in Chicago Public Schools and after-school programs throughout the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drink &amp; Draw [Virtual] is a low-key drop-in social workshop devoted to staying creative from home. There are no pretensions and newcomers are always welcome, so invite your friends to join! Each Drink &amp; Draw [Virtual] features a new guest artist and a new theme or project that uses pencil, paper, and everyday household supplies. Don\u2019t have a sketchbook?
