Progress is an ongoing expedition critical to growth and development. It is with this in mind that each fall, Spudnik Press pays homage to the role progress plays in an artist’s practice, while raising the funds needed to keep our studio in progress.
October’s Theme is “Your Doodles Rock & Other Drawing Games” that celebrate that great artform–doodling. Almost every artist has turned in a math test with scribbles of genius in its margins, so now we give them the recognition they deserve! Our theme beverage is Oktoberfest beer, or BYO.
Site and Source is a solo exhibition including many works that were made while Jaclyn was Artist In Residence at Spudnik Press Cooperative in Chicago from March through May 2013. Beginning with the plastic fencing and other found objects taken from an abandoned lot near her home, Jacunski uses the impression of these materials to create new work.

Ten x Ten is a collaboration between visual artists and musicians exploring visual and auditory interaction. Through exploring the underlying concepts of synesthesia, artists and composers work together to produce a single two-part artwork; an art print and a composition for small ensemble. Live musical performance and one-night exhibition.

Walking Driftward is a solo exhibition of monoprints and cut paper constructions made while Hannah Ireland was Artist in Residence at Spudnik Press Cooperative from September to November 2013. Ireland’s new work is based on exploring and creating around a hiking trip in Spain and Portugal in the summer of 2013.
